In The Beginning

The Gospel of John begins with "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God"(John 1:1). This Website begins with a shot of espresso, a bowl of pipe tobacco, and a dream!

To those of you who do not know me, I am Nick McGee. I am an Asbury Theological Seminary student, an Anglican seminarian, Subaru Driver, Pipe Smoker, NBA Free Agent, Sacramento King's Die Hard, Church History, Bible, and Sacramental Nerd, and most importantly I am a disciple and follower of Our Lord Jesus Christ. I have created this website as a place for people to engage with the Bible, Church, Culture, Politics, and History.

Hipster Anglican is a place for young Christians to engage with the culture and the Church! In a constantly evolving Church landscape, it is essential that we as Christians engage in the changes happening in our churches and communities and wrestle with doctrines of sexuality, ecclesiology, life, sacramtentology, missiology, and the work of the Gospel in our own lives. Our Generation is the future of the church and if we aren't ready to wrestle with God the Church and the World then who will?

My Hope is that this platform would be a place where we can wrestle with God, and culture, express a Millennial and Zoomer expression of Anglicanism, and be able to come out the other side as better more mature followers of Jesus our King! I will be posting weekly articles and a monthly podcast with experts who are engaging the culture on behalf of the Gospel!
